It never ceases to amaze me how facts can change when they go from one ear to another.
If all it takes is a spring to break on a trailing link strut during a heavier than normal landing to win the pranged pig award, we must really be stuck for candidates.
The facts are as follows: I was with a friend teaching him how to fly a turbine. he was doing very well and has had five flights.
I flew my jet in between his flights. On the last flight, I was showing off a bit. I decided to do a tight in approach. I slowed down the boomerang and did a tight 50 ft diameter circle as my landing approach. As I lined up with runway, I leveled my wings but ran out of forward speed and dropped the last 2 ft. The heavy landing broke the spring on the oleo strut. The strut then dug into the grass and pulled out of the fuselage. The flap on this plane is right behind the gear, so the flap also pulled away from the ca hinges. It took all of about an hour to fix and I flew it again yesterday.
We must really have to have better candidates than such a silly little thing like this.

Not much ;D Congratulations on your first post , either you do read this or a little birdy told you . Everyone has a chance to defend themselves at the meeting and then a vote is taken . Just like any Kangarooooo court you can be found guilty by absenteeism ;D ;D ;D ... also you were quoted as saying "I was hot dogging a bit " We amazingly all chose to believe your accuser But in your own words I quote from your post "On the last flight, I was showing off a bit." Hmmmmm... P.S. Where may we deliver the prestigious award so that you may display it proudly , according to club rule # 79 sub sec. C

Now where did that little birdy go?
There is a big difference between a "jet going in" as seen in Kitchener and a strut pulling out.
Lets see, I will be in New York this week, Texas and Germany the following week and half, then California. I am sure would could find some time.
